Chris Lawlor

By foot

During its reign as the ‘Victorian Whisky Capital of the World’, over 30 distilleries were producing whisky in Campbeltown. As Chris has been discovering, most are now gone but their stories and legacies live on in the town’s architecture.

Graeme Johncock

By Sea

Partnering with local business Sailaway Scotland, Graeme’s travels along the Clyde and down the Peninsula to Campbeltown Harbour capture the crucial role of the sea in Glen Scotia’s story. This has always been our region’s superhighway to the world, connecting us through history to Glasgow, London, the Americas and beyond.

Barbara Gajewska

By Road

Barbara has been exploring the amazing food and drink scene of our Kintyre Peninsula, while also visiting some of the many picturesque towns that dot the route. And who could miss a visit to Inveraray Jail?

The Destination

Sometimes the journey may be more enjoyable than the destination. In this case, the destination is every bit as spectacular and satisfying as the journey. That’s because the final stage in the journeys of Chris, Graeme and Barbara takes place at our very own Glen Scotia Distillery. A chance for them to meet our skilled and dedicated team, including Iain McAlister – who is not only our Master Distiller but also our Distillery Manager. Who better to be your guide for the behind-the-scenes experience of a lifetime?

Not only can you view content from the Journeys via each influencer’s own social media accounts, but you can also enjoy a new free exhibition at this year’s Campbeltown Malts Festival.

The Journey to Campbeltown exhibition will be hosted in one of our atmospheric Glen Scotia warehouses and will give you the chance to explore our coastline, by road, sea, and foot, as well as to learn more about the incredible history and heritage of one of Scotland’s finest distilleries.
