As the last drams have been poured at the 2024 Campbeltown Malts Festival, we look back over a fantastic two days spent in the very best company.
This year, like always, we raised the bar and turned our distillery and courtyard into a whisky wonderland of experiences, talks and the very best live music.
We were lucky this year to work with three amazing whisky writers and author, Dave Broom, Millie Milliken and Becky Paskin. Dave Broom partnered with our Master Blender Michael Henry in our infamous Dunnage Warehouse, for our ‘Exploring the World of Sherry and Whisky’ event, learning and tasting more about the sherry casks we use to finish Glen Scotia releases. Meanwhile, Millie Milliken and our Master Distiller Iain McAlister distilled down the four key characteristics in our Glen Scotia New Make Spirit School, understanding where fruit, oil, salt and funk come from in the process. Only a stone’s throw away, Becky Paskin and Michael Henry conducted the Master Blender Experience, where lucky enthusiasts got the chance to understand how the blending process works and create their own, unique Glen Scotia whisky. Last, but not least, the magic of the Festival, Iain’s Dunnage Warehouse tasting, an exclusive opportunity to taste and savour some of Iain’s favourite casks. As the live music played throughout the courtyard from the best of Kintyre, Rhuvaal and We.R.Soul, tucked away in our darkest warehouse, viewers were shown our Journey to Campbeltown hero films playing on big screens amongst our aging whisky, with a dram in hand. The show couldn’t come together without our host, Global Brand Ambassador, Gary Mills, who orchestrated the day, with some special cask strength tastings in the heart of the courtyard, open for all to attend.
