We’re delighted to have been recognised at the annual World Whiskies Awards, as our Campbeltown distillery continues to earn industry recognition for the dedication of our team to whisky craftsmanship.
Winning ‘World’s Best Single Cask Single Malt’, the latest accolade goes to a Glen Scotia Single Cask bottling distilled in 2009 and aged for 13 years exclusively in a first-fill bourbon barrel.
The recent run of endorsements for our distillery has been heart-warming to receive. It is the fourth award in the last two years after our 25 Year Old was crowned ‘Best in Show’ at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2021, competing against 3,800 entries, before we were honoured with ‘Scottish Whisky Distillery of the Year’ at the Scottish Whisky Awards 2021. We’re humbled to have been the first distillery to receive both accolades, let alone within the same year. The good fortune continued into last year when our Victoriana took home ‘Best In Class’ in the Distillers’ Single Malt Scotch – No Age Statement category at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2022. It’s a great testament to our distillery team working passionately and tirelessly to put Campbeltown whiskies even further back on the map.
Bottled in 2022 with only 218 bottles available, this remarkable unpeated Single Cask liquid (56.4% ABV) offers aromas of warming oak spice and fresh vanilla, which intermingle with basked red apple and caramelised banana. On the palate, there are hints of dark chocolate and spicy ginger before a smooth salted caramel and cherry compote finish.

“For a long time Campbeltown was the forgotten whisky region, however, in recent years there has been a real resurgence of interest in our style of whisky.
“From being a central player in the once whisky capital of the world to being one of only a handful of distilleries left, the last few years have been a real journey for Glen Scotia. This series of fantastic awards from the industry is a real testament to entire team that puts their all into making Glen Scotia a success. We’re delighted to be doing our part putting our region's whiskies back on the map, and it is incredibly humbling to see our various expressions (young and old) acknowledged for their quality. We could not be happier with this recognition from the World Whiskies Awards.”
