Victoriana Brings Home Double Gold (and Platinum) for Glen Scotia at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition!

Victoriana has been awarded a rare Double Gold distinction for the third consecutive year at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, meaning that it has now received a prestigious Platinum medal. Additionally, our Glen Scotia 25-Year-Old has won its seventh consecutive Double Gold award, having achieved Platinum back in 2020.

A Double Gold medal is a prestigious accolade awarded only when the entire judging panel unanimously grant a Gold rating to a spirit, deeming it to be among the finest in the world. These remarkable awards join 10 other medals we’ve received from the competition this year, including Double Gold for our 15-Year-Old and our 18-Year-Old.

The San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC), founded in 2000, is one of the oldest and most respected spirits competitions in the world. Run annually by The Tasting Alliance, it brings together 70 world renowned judges, including mixologists, spirit buyers, and writers, to evaluate entries through a blind-tasting process, ensuring fairness and accuracy.

This year’s competition was the largest ever, with 5,500 entries across hundreds of categories. The competition awards medals for Best in Class, Double Gold, Gold, Silver, and Bronze, with Double Gold reserved for spirits unanimously awarded top marks by the judging panel.

Victoriana is a richly complex single malt whisky, offering bold, layered flavours of sweet caramel, ripe berries, toasted notes, and a hint of spice. Bottled at 54.2%, it’s matured in first and second-fill bourbon casks, then finished in heavily charred bourbon barrels and PX sherry butts. Victoriana is a tribute to Victorian-style Campbeltown whisky of old, embodying the heritage and craftsmanship of this historic region.

Glen Scotia 25-Year-Old single malt whisky offers delicate hints of vanilla oak, subtle notes of sea spray and aromatic, spicy fruits. Bottled at 48.8%, It’s gently matured in premium American oak barrels and then finished in first-fill bourbon casks before bottling. Often called ‘Campbeltown’s liquid gold’, Glen Scotia 25-Year-Old offers a true reflection of our distillery's traditional character and the distinctive Campbeltown style.
